DESCRIPTION

The high-tech building is situated in the industrial area of the Hidria corporation in Spodnja Idrija. The industrial hall, measuring approximately 70 x 70 meters with a height of 17 meters, visually dominates the narrow valley. This was taken into account during the design process, leading to a breakdown of the volume. As a result, the building appears visually smaller.

The main volume of the hall is divided vertically by a black line of a cantilevered canopy and linear windows. Together, they create a clear visual distinction between the upper and lower sections of the building. The large canopy provides protection from rain and sun, keeping the entrance and loading ramps dry. The upper part of the building consists of three cubes that vary in dimensions and materials, with each representing a specific work process within the facility. The main entrance is located at the corner of the building and is appropriately emphasized by the cube above it.

The façade of the production hall reflects the high-tech manufacturing process, incorporating photovoltaic panels that surround the office spaces and mark the entrance. Currently, 50% of the hall has been constructed, with plans for future expansion to the west following the same design concept.
